Dub Tape FM: Long Live The DJ

April 15, 2010
Missing the ole days of mix tapes and real DJ's? Check out Dub Tape FM, a site dedicated to magnetic media, DJ's and gosh darned good vinyl!

In these modern days with the popularity of iPods and Serato, anyone and everyone can make a good playlist... but what about a well curated, blended and beat matched selection that really knocks you off your socks? Ack! C'mon folks, it's not just about playing back your favorite songs. Challenge me, won't ya'? Mix it, match it and stir it up! I miss the days when you'd go out to see your favorite DJ perform. I mean, really perform!

Dub Tape FM , the latest project from DJ, producer and recording engineer, Mike Hirst, is all about just that, in a podcast format. It's about rare grooves and underground sounds. How does it work? Mixes are contributed by DJ's and submitted through the site for consideration. Then, the digital files are recorded to tape and uploaded for your listening enjoyment. Fun!
