Adorned Walls

November 18, 2010
I love doilies.  'Always have...   Lol, don't ask, but look!  Oh-la-la! 'Love how the owner of this bedroom took out her grannie's collection and gave it a fresh and modern use.

Shopping around flea markets, yard sales and antique shops can be great fun!  There's a thrill about the hunting and gathering and finding items... especially on the cheap!   I especially love this idea because it's easy and inexpensive!

Gold antique frames, left empty and then hung to create an area of interest, texture and romance.
What more can I say? J'adore!

The way items are arranged on a wall can also be part of the fun and design.  Too often I might think of just hanging items in a straight horizontal alignment etc.  Uh, but, wow... How fab is the below arrangement?
Don't have already have a collection of items?  Look no further than around your house for items you already own!  Seriously...

Take the scarf you bought at a consignment shop?   That one with the wild colors and pattern that you just love to look at but can never figure out how to wear.  Frame it!  Voila!

For a music lover, the below idea is just tops!  Love, love, love!

Pile it on.  Bring it on!  Layers of textures, colors and patterns can create an eclectic and oh-so-comfy atmosphere.  For a bold move, go vibrant and mix bright colors!  Or, for a sophisticated more neutral look, go tonal as in  John Robshaw's Fall 2010 Indigo Turban collection (pictured above).
